I will dominate 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be streamed in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually proceeding.
